What is the difference between CIJ and DOD?

The main difference between CIJ and DOD listed as follow

1. Using CIJ technology, the ink is continuously circulated throughout the inkjet printer, from the ink path system through the print head, and then back to the ink path system. With DOD technology, the ink is only sprayed when the inkjet printer is printing, that is to say, Drop on-demand injection. From the working principle, the entire ink path of CIJ is a continuous cycle, and when printing is needed, the ink drop is charged to produce displaceable deflection to complete the content printing. DOD uses the principle of siphon, oil ink pressure comes from built-in pump, and sprays out according to the number of demand.

2. The maximum speed of CIJ printing can reach 380 m/min, which is generally used in high-speed production and conveying systems. DOD maximum printing speed is only 80 meters/min, generally used in feed bags, outer boxes and other large packaging with low resolution requirements for bulk printing.

3. The actual height of CIJ printing is generally 1-20mm, and the printing height of DOD can generally reach 60mm per head.

4. CIJ generally uses MERK ink supplies mixed solvent; DOD is usually printed with oily ink or UV ink supplies.
